Scholars' rocks, also known as spirit stones, have adorned Chinese homes and gardens for hundreds of years. They are chosen for their resemblance to mountains, clouds and other forms of nature in miniature, or simply for their remarkable beauty. They are often placed in wooden stands carved to fit snugly at the base of the stone which are often works of art in themselves.
The gallery has three exceptional ones available.
